GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — A former Grand Forks County city auditor was sentenced to 60 days in jail and two months of home confinement. She admitted to using taxpayer money to pad her salary and go shopping.

Wendy Sullivan, 60, used nearly $115,000 during her 12 years on the job, including nearly $90,000 in unauthorized pay raises. The judge ordered her to repay over $89,000, with three years to do so.

Sullivan repaid $10,000 of that amount on Friday and was given until March 2026 to repay the remaining balance of approximately $79,000.

The court rejected Sullivan’s request to be allowed to leave jail each day to run a daycare. She is currently running a daycare in Roseau County but will serve her sentence as ordered by the judge.
