FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A Cass County Sheriff’s deputy has resigned from their position amid an investigation into alleged criminal activity. The sheriff’s office was contacted by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in September to initiate an inquiry.
The BCI investigation led to Deputy Carson Quam resigning on November 21, according to a statement released by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to this announcement, no information had been shared with the public due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and its origin from another agency.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner stated that his office collaborated with the investigating agencies throughout the process, ensuring the integrity of the case. If any criminal activity is substantiated, it will not be tolerated within their department.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has declined further comment pending review by the Grand Forks and Cass County States Attorney’s Offices. trfnews.i234.me will continue to follow this situation as more information becomes available.
