The No. 3 ranked Golden Gopher women’s hockey team notched a key WCHA conference win on Friday, taking down the No. 4 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs 4-1 on the road. Minnesota moves to a 9-3-1 (5-3-1 WCHA) record on the season.
Junior defender Sydney Morrow opened up scoring on the day with a power play goal with 3:42 left in the first period, assisted by Chloe Primerano and Natalie Mlynkova. It was Morrow’s fourth goal of the season and second on a power play. However, Minnesota Duluth quickly responded with a Hanna Baskin goal a little over a minute later. The game remained 1-1 heading into first intermission, with the Gophers outshooting the Bulldogs 22-9.
