ST. LOUIS – North Dakota State running back CharMar Brown was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Week by the league office for the third time this season on Monday, Oct. 28.
Brown, a redshirt freshman from Omaha, Neb., rushed 13 times for 97 yards and three touchdowns in North Dakota State’s 59-6 win at Murray State. He scored on runs of 7 and 3 yards in the first half and added a 1-yard TD in the second half.
Brown has scored in six of NDSU’s nine games this year. He ranks fourth in the MVFC with 10 rushing TDs and leads all Division I freshmen with 674 rushing yards.
No. 1-ranked North Dakota State (8-1, 5-0 MVFC) is scheduled to host Northern Iowa at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. Tickets are on sale at GoBison.com/tickets.
