The North Dakota State women’s cross country team will attempt to regain its conference crown at the Summit League Championships this Saturday, Nov. 2, in Vermillion, S.D.
The University of South Dakota will host the meet at The Bluffs Golf Course. The women’s six-kilometer race starts at 11 a.m., with the men’s 8k to follow at noon.
The NDSU women will be in search of their sixth Summit League team title in cross country, claiming championships previously in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2019, and 2022. The Bison have captured four Summit League individual crowns, with the most recent being Kelby Anderson in 2019.
NDSU took third in the women’s team race one year ago, with South Dakota winning and South Dakota State as the runner-up.
Bison senior Reagan Baesler could challenge for the individual title on Saturday. She has been NDSU’s top runner at all four meets this season, bringing home Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors three times. Fellow senior Grace Link has been the No. 2 finisher for the Bison at every meet this year and was the top runner for NDSU at the past two Summit League Championships.
The Bison women will enter the conference meet ranked 12th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Rankings.
