The North Dakota State men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Peoria, Ill., on Friday, Nov. 15.
The women’s six-kilometer race will begin at 11 a.m. CT, with the men’s 10k race to follow at 12 p.m. at Newman Golf Course. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
The meet will feature runners from nearly 40 teams spanning nine states (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota).
A total of 31 teams nationally will qualify for the NCAA Championships at Wisconsin on Nov. 23. The top two teams at each of the nine regional meets automatically qualify, leaving 13 at-large team bids. Individually, 38 additional athletes per gender will qualify, with the top four runners at each regional not on a qualifying team being automatically selected.
The Bison women own a top regional finish of seventh place as a team in 2012. NDSU’s highest previous finish in the men’s team race at the NCAA Midwest Regional was 13th place in 2010.
