Glorianne Mae Loeslie – Obituary

Glorianne Mae Loeslie, 90, of Warren, MN, went to the angels with her family at her side on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Glorianne was born on May 31, 1934 on a farm on a hill thirteen miles from Denhoff, ND. She was delivered with the help of a midwife and was the daughter of William and Frieda (Tagatz) Alms. She moved with her family as a young girl and lived in several places including Pasadena, CA; Red Wing, MN; Twin Valley, MN and Ada, MN. She graduated from Ada High School, class of 1952, and attended some business and technical classes as Depression-era funds provided. On November 8, 1953, Glorianne married Gerald Cirks. They lived in Park Rapids, MN where Gerald ran a milk delivery business. Glorianne was known to load up the kids and help make deliveries as the business grew. Gerald’s health deteriorated and the family eventually settled in Warren. Gerald died on August 23, 1966. Glorianne married Donavon “Don” Loeslie on December 2, 1967 and they made their home on a farm north of Warren. She was a quintessential farm wife and would help wherever needed, whether that was driving truck or moving vehicles and equipment. Glorianne would also drive the bulk truck for Don’s bulk business with the kids pulling the fuel hoses. She had a great love of animals and the family always had a variety of pets around the farm and in the house. She took great care of animals and they knew they had a caregiver overlooking them. Glorianne and Donavon moved to their house in Warren on April 14, 2022.

She was a gifted painter who enjoyed working with many types of surfaces including glass, canvas, paper, and bottles. Glorianne took up painting later in life when she was in Sedona, AZ when she signed up for a painting class. She became a prolific painter who was also known to make greeting cards for family and friends. Glorianne liked to collect gadgets (she was known as the Gadget Queen to her family), make jewelry, knit, and watch all types of movies. She enjoyed wines and was always happy to share her knowledge of the different types of wine when asked.

Glorianne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid; a 53-year member of the Warren American Legion Auxiliary; was a Woman’s Advocate and later a Committee Member of the FSA; a First Lady of the National Wheat Growers Association; a member of Women for Agriculture; Warren elementary school secretary; 4-H Leader; and major church, home, and JC Penney storefront decorator.

She taught us how to live and taught us how to die, doing all in the name of God and Our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
