Altru Family YMCA to host food and essentials drive starting Monday – Obituary

GRAND FORKS – The Altru Family YMCA is hosting a food and essentials drive starting at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, to support St. Joseph’s Social Care Food Pantry.

The drive will end at 1 p.m. Nov. 19.

Non-perishable and non-expired food items as well as new, unopened and unused toiletry items may be dropped off at the YMCA during its regular operating hours: Monday-Friday, 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

A list of suggested donations is available at the YMCA, 215 N. Seventh St., and on the YMCA website and Facebook page. They include non-perishable vegetables, boxed meals, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruits, tuna, ramen noodles, breakfast bars, cereal, pasta sauces, canned beans, shelf-stable milk and juices.

There is a need for toiletries such as new soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, body wash products, lotion, diapers, formula, baby wipes and powder, baby food, paper towels, napkins, dish and laundry detergent, and pet food. All items should be new and unopened.

All donations will be delivered to St. Joseph’s Social Care.

Monetary donations are also welcome and can be taken directly to St. Joseph’s Social Care, 620 Eighth Ave. S.
