Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A woman from Thief River Falls, Minnesota has been injured after crashing into a horse on Wednesday in Polk County. The incident occurred near Winger and involved a vehicle driven by Peggy Ann Dammen (67).
According to reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, Dammen was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer when it collided with a horse on Highway 59 near 400th Street Southeast.
Dammen sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was taken to Fosston Hospital for treatment. Three young children who were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident suffered no apparent injury and were all wearing seatbelts.
The condition of the horse involved in the incident is unknown.
Investigations by officials have determined that alcohol did not play a factor in the crash, which was reported just before 9 pm on Wednesday.
