FERGUS FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Kaitlyn Carroll, a 26-year-old woman from Elizabeth, has been charged with third-degree murder in connection with the overdose death of a 28-year-old man who was found unresponsive at his home in rural Fergus Falls.
According to the criminal complaint, Carroll supplied the victim with a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl. A plastic bag containing a white powder (later identified as the lethal combination) was recovered from the scene, and Carroll’s DNA was found on it. Investigators also uncovered phone messages between Carroll and the victim that suggested her involvement in supplying him with the drugs.
The maximum penalty for third-degree murder in Minnesota is 25 years imprisonment.
