Walmart Delivers: Prescription Medicines Now Available with Groceries and More

(trfnews.i234.me) – Walmart has announced a new service that allows customers to order prescription medicines along with their grocery shopping. The company claims this will enable them to receive all of these items as soon as 30 minutes.

This move comes after Amazon.com’s announcement of its plans to open pharmacies in various US cities, offering same-day delivery options for medications and other health-related products.

Walmart previously took around five to seven business days to deliver prescription medicines. However, customers could opt for overnight delivery at an additional cost of $15.

The new service is currently available in six states: Arkansas, Missouri, New York, Nevada, South Carolina, and Wisconsin. By the end of January next year, it will be offered across 49 US states.

Walmart Plus members can receive free express delivery on their orders, while non-members will have to pay a standard charge of $9.95.

Customers also have the option to choose between on-demand or same-day delivery for all items in their order.

The company stated that customers would be able to add prescriptions along with other items from their local Walmart store in a single online or app-based order.

Prescriptions will only include medications, excluding controlled substances and those requiring refrigeration. Medicare Part B services are also not included.

CVS Health offers free same-day delivery for its CarePass members, while Walgreens provides 24-hour delivery along with groceries and over-the-counter medications.
