MINNEAPOLIS (trfnews.i234.me) – A man was involved in a fatal car accident while attempting to flee from law enforcement. The incident occurred on July 9, 2024, in Robbinsdale.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Quintin Leon Hudson, crashed into another vehicle at nearly 100 mph. As a result of the collision, Emily Gerding was killed and her husband John sustained severe injuries.
Hudson did not possess a valid driver’s license but had an operator’s permit instead. There were indications that he might have been under the influence of a controlled substance during the incident.
As part of his plea agreement, Hudson will be sentenced to 165 months in prison (approximately 13.75 years) for fleeing from police resulting in death and great bodily harm.
The Gerdings worked as special education teachers in the Anoka-Hennepin School District at the time of their deaths. John Gerding was left with life-threatening injuries, while Emily’s family suffered a devastating loss.
Hudson will be officially sentenced on December 12th.
