ST. LOUIS – North Dakota State’s Logan Kopp and Kaedin Steindorf were named Missouri Valley Football Conference players of the week by the league office Monday, Oct. 21, for their performance against top-ranked South Dakota State in the Dakota Marker game.

Kopp, a junior linebacker from St. Louis, was named Defensive Player of the Week after clinching NDSU’s 13-9 victory by intercepting a pass at the NDSU 38-yard line with 1:00 left in the game. SDSU picked up three first downs and advanced to midfield before Kopp’s seventh career interception. He finished with six total tackles.

Steindorf, a senior punter from Sherwood, Ore., was named Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 43.8 yards on five punts. His two longest punts both went 47 yards, including one out-of-bounds at the SDSU 4 as Steindorf and the Bison limited the Jacks to zero return yards in the punt game.

North Dakota State (7-1, 4-0 MVFC) moved up to No. 1 in both FCS national polls with the victory. The Bison play at Murray State (1-6, 0-4 MVFC) this Saturday, Oct. 26.
