Fargo Fugitive: Man Sought for Downtown Shooting Now in Custody

FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — Police have apprehended 37-year-old Gregory LaCroix, who was wanted for an overnight shooting in downtown Fargo. LaCroix was taken into custody without incident around 5 p.m.

The suspect had been identified as the person responsible for shooting a man once at Broadway and 3rd Avenue North around 2:30 a.m. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to Sanford Medical Center with serious injuries.

An eyewitness reported seeing LaCroix’s white van across the street from where the shooting occurred. He claimed that he saw someone in the passenger seat talking before hearing a gunshot and watching as the van drove off.

The witness quickly sprang into action, removing his sweater and using it to cover the victim’s chest wound until another person could call 911 for help.

According to investigators, LaCroix and the shooting victim know each other. The police are urging anyone who spots LaCroix not to approach him but rather report his location immediately by calling 911.

LaCroix is being held on charges of attempted murder and fleeing. His current whereabouts have been confirmed as in custody with local authorities. Further details regarding this case will be provided once more information becomes available.
