CRASH ON I-29: Pickup Driver Seriously Injured in Rear-End Collision with Semi-Truck; Investigation Underway

RICHLAND COUNTY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A serious crash occurred Sunday night on Interstate 29 (I-29) in Richland County, North Dakota. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. when a pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old man from Dickinson rear-ended a semi-truck traveling at road speed.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the pickup driver failed to see the slower-moving semi and collided with it about a mile south of Christine. The impact sent the pickup into the I-29 median, while the semi pulled over on the shoulder.

The 18-year-old driver was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-truck escaped without injury.
