Child Sex Tourism Scandal: Former North Dakota Senator's Release Conditions Continuously Violated

FARGO (trfnews.i234.me)Former North Dakota state Sen. Ray Holmberg is facing further scrutiny as he awaits sentencing for his guilty plea to child sex tourism charges. Despite multiple verbal reprimands and reminders of his conditions, Holmberg has continued to violate the terms of his release.

According to a federal court filing, Holmberg accessed social media seven times in August and once in September, despite restrictions on internet use as part of his pre-sentencing supervision. Additionally, he visited an unauthorized location in Fargo just days before pleading guilty, while still under electronic monitoring.

This is not the first time Holmberg has been accused of violating his release conditions. Prior to his plea hearing, he was found to have accessed YouTube using a search term related to adult content and drank alcohol, further breaching the terms set by authorities.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office is now taking action, with plans to file a motion requesting a hearing on these latest violations. Sentencing guidelines for Holmberg’s charge call for approximately three to four years in federal prison.

As this case continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the court will respond to these repeated infractions and what consequences may follow.
