BISMARCK, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — North Dakota’s State Fire Marshal has released preliminary findings on the deadly wildfires that erupted in northwestern North Dakota on October 5th.

The fires, which ravaged areas near New Town/Dinwoodie, Keene Township, and Williams County, tragically claimed two lives, injured others, and led to the evacuation of over 100 residents.

Although the investigation is still in its early stages, authorities have found no evidence that the fires were intentionally set.

The final cause of origin report, which typically takes one to two months to complete, will provide more detailed insights once the investigation concludes.

The wildfires near Ray and Highway 85 remain under scrutiny as recovery efforts continue.
