Moorhead (trfnews.i234.me) — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has fined American Crystal Sugar Company $12,000 for failing to meet air permit standards at its Moorhead sugar beet processing facility.
The violations stemmed from failed emissions performance tracking on two boilers in the fall of last year.
Reports submitted by the company revealed 121 emission deviations during 414 testing periods in the first half of 2022.
Alongside the fine, American Crystal Sugar has completed a series of corrective actions to address the violations and ensure future compliance with air quality standards.
