Minneapolis Crime Wave: Six Juveniles Aged 11 to 14 Arrested After Two-Hour Robbery Spree

MINNEAPOLIS (trfnews.i234.me)Minneapolis police arrested six juveniles, ranging in age from 11 to 14, following a two-hour robbery spree in South Minneapolis on Tuesday. The crime wave began around 11:30 a.m. in the Minnehaha area and continued through the Powderhorn and Lyndale neighborhoods.

In response, Police Chief Brian O’Hara activated the Crime Pattern Response Protocol, flooding the area with officers. Two stolen vehicles were involved in the robberies, both of which crashed near Interstate 94. Though the suspects fled on foot, they were swiftly apprehended.

The young ages of the suspects continue to concern police. “It’s incredibly frustrating,” O’Hara said, reflecting on the increasing involvement of children in serious crimes. This comes just days after a 10-year-old boy was arrested for assault after driving a stolen car through a crowded playground.

Many of the arrested juveniles have had previous encounters with law enforcement, highlighting the growing need for stronger preventive measures. All suspects were booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
