SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The North Dakota State University men’s basketball team has been picked to finish third in The Summit League this season, according to the annual preseason poll of league head coaches, sports information directors and media.
NDSU senior guard Jacari White was voted to the preseason All-Summit League second team. An All-Defensive Team honoree last season as a junior, he ranked fourth on the Bison with 10.3 points per game, and led NDSU with 66 three-pointers made and 45.5-percent shooting from beyond the arc.
A native of Orlando, Fla., White scored a season-high 16 points in each of three straight games to end last season. He drained multiple three-pointers in 11 consecutive contests to close the year, including 12 treys over the final three games.
Kansas City topped the preseason poll with 17 of the 36 first-place votes. South Dakota State came in second, and the Bison were picked third.
NDSU has played in 9 of the past 12 Summit League Tournament championship games, dating back to 2013. The Bison host MSU Moorhead in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Oct. 23, inside the Scheels Center.
