Polk County: Woman Accused of Stealing Farmworker’s Car

POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Jordan Lorraine Krolak, 28, faces two felony theft charges after a farmworker’s vehicle disappeared during harvest.

According to a Polk County criminal complaint, the vehicle was taken September 22, 2026, from a rural roadside.

Investigators later found the black 2013 Ford Fusion abandoned in a ditch near Old Mill State Park.

The complaint alleges Krolak took the car without permission and removed personal belongings valued at approximately $2,260.

Farmworker Reports Car Missing During Harvest

The investigation began September 22 when a farmworker contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office about his missing vehicle.

The man said he had parked his Ford Fusion near 250th Avenue Southwest and 190th Street Southwest.

He was working in a nearby field and had left the keys inside the vehicle.

When he returned around 9:30 a.m., the car was gone.

The owner estimated the vehicle’s value at $4,000 to $6,000.

He also reported leaving golf clubs, a poker set, clothing, and other personal items inside.

Stolen Vehicle Found Near Old Mill State Park

On September 23, authorities located the unoccupied Ford Fusion in a ditch outside Old Mill State Park.

The park is in Marshall County, northwest of Thief River Falls.

According to the complaint, the keys remained in the ignition.

Investigators also noticed that papers inside the vehicle appeared to have been disturbed.

Falls Towing removed the vehicle and transported it to Thief River Falls.

The owner later examined the recovered vehicle and reported several missing belongings.

Credit Card and Personal Items Lead to Suspect

During the inspection, the owner reportedly discovered a Capital One credit card bearing Jordan Krolak’s name.

He also found a hair tie, lottery scratch-off tickets, a check, and a blue Apple phone.

According to the complaint, some of those items did not belong to the vehicle’s owner.

The missing property reportedly included golf clubs, a golf bag, a hat, a DVD, and a poker set.

The owner estimated the missing belongings were worth approximately $2,260.

Witness Describes Alleged Vehicle Theft

Investigators later interviewed a woman who said she accompanied Krolak on September 22.

The witness reported driving Krolak to an appointment when they encountered a parked vehicle along a gravel road.

According to the complaint, Krolak suddenly exited the witness’s vehicle.

The witness alleged Krolak entered the parked car and drove away.

She described Krolak as acting strangely and appearing to be in an altered state.

The witness reportedly searched for Krolak afterward but could not locate her.

Investigators also received statements from another person who had learned about the alleged incident.

Two Felony Theft Charges Filed

Krolak faces one felony count of motor vehicle theft and another felony count involving stolen personal property.

Both charges fall under Minnesota Statute 609.52.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.

The complaint also identifies previous theft-related convictions, including a 2025 conviction for receiving stolen property.

Those earlier convictions are separate from the current allegations.

Polk County Court Proceedings

The case is filed under Polk County Court File No. 60-CR-26-1480.

The complaint includes a warrant and identifies Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.

At the time described in the complaint, Krolak was held in Marshall County on an unrelated supervision violation.

The supplied document does not confirm her current custody status or next hearing date.

Readers can search public records through Minnesota Court Records Online.

The charges remain allegations and have not been proven in court.

Krolak is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
