Lake Bronson: Jon Hruby Faces Two Felony Registration Counts

LAKE BRONSON (trfnews.i234.me) — Jon Michael Hruby, 29, faces two felony charges involving Minnesota’s predatory offender registration requirements.

According to a Kittson County criminal complaint, the allegations involve changes to Hruby’s employment and residence.

Investigators allege Hruby failed to provide required updates to law enforcement during September 2026.

The case was filed in Kittson County District Court under court file number 35-CR-26-130.

Both felony counts carry possible prison sentences and fines if a conviction occurs.

First Charge Involves Employment Information

The first charge concerns an alleged failure to update employment information between August 31 and September 10, 2026.

According to the complaint, investigators conducted a compliance check at Hruby’s listed Lake Bronson residence on September 10.

Hruby was not at the property when authorities arrived.

Investigators contacted a supervisor at Podco LLC in Lancaster, where Hruby had previously reported working.

The supervisor told investigators that Hruby’s employment had ended on August 31, 2026.

The complaint alleges authorities found no documentation showing Hruby reported the employment change.

Investigators later contacted Hruby on September 12.

According to the complaint, Hruby said he was stressed while searching for another job.

Second Felony Charge Involves Address Change

The second charge concerns an alleged registration violation between September 14 and September 16, 2026.

Investigators alleged Hruby left his registered Lake Bronson residence without providing the required notice.

The property owner reportedly told investigators that Hruby had been told to leave during that period.

According to the complaint, the property owner did not know where Hruby planned to go.

Investigators also reported that Hruby’s camper and pickup truck were no longer at the property.

The complaint contains conflicting dates concerning when those vehicles were first observed missing.

Investigators alleged Hruby had not notified the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office about his move.

The document does not establish his current residence or custody status.

Previous Conviction and Registration Duties

The complaint identifies a previous conviction involving solicitation of a child through electronic communication.

That conviction occurred on August 18, 2020, in Marshall County case 45-CR-17-286.

The complaint states Hruby was discharged from probation on February 26, 2025.

It also states he signed a registration verification form on October 3, 2025.

That form outlined duties involving employment, addresses, and other required information.

Investigators cited the signed form when describing Hruby’s knowledge of those duties.

Possible Penalties Under Minnesota Law

Both charges fall under Minnesota Statute 243.166.

The law requires qualifying offenders to keep certain registration details updated.

Those details include required residence information, employment addresses, and other identifying information.

Knowingly failing to fulfill registration duties can result in a felony conviction.

Each listed charge carries a possible maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Each also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000, or both penalties.

These are possible penalties, not sentences imposed against Hruby in this case.

Kittson County Court Proceedings

The criminal complaint lists two separate felony counts and includes a warrant designation.

The prosecutor’s file number is 26000129.

The complaint does not provide a final ruling, plea, or sentencing outcome.

These Kittson County allegations are separate from Hruby’s Pennington County registration case.

Hruby is presumed innocent of the new allegations unless proven guilty in court.

Readers can find information through the Kittson County District Court website.

Public case information may also be available through Minnesota Court Records Online.

Additional court records would be needed to confirm the current status or final outcome.
