Ogema Man Charged With Felony Domestic Assault
Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — Adrian Trent Olson, 38, of Ogema, faces a felony domestic assault charge in Mahnomen County.
The charge was filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District Court.
Court records accuse Olson of assaulting a woman during the early morning hours of September 19, 2026.
The allegations are contained in a criminal complaint. They have not been proven in court.
Woman Reports Early Morning Assault
Authorities were called to a Mahnomen County residence at about 5:17 a.m.
Dispatch received a report that a woman was being assaulted by her boyfriend.
The complaint states Olson had been away from the home during the night.
He allegedly called the woman several times before she allowed him inside.
The woman told investigators she then ended their relationship.
According to the complaint, Olson became angry and lunged toward her near a bed.
The woman said she ducked and then felt an impact to her head.
She was unsure whether she was punched or struck with an object.
The complaint says she fell from the bed onto the floor.
Olson allegedly then kicked or slapped her on the right side of her body.
The woman later went into the living room with her children.
Olson allegedly gathered his belongings, took keys and left the residence.
Investigators Report Visible Injuries
Authorities reported seeing several injuries on the woman after the alleged assault.
Those injuries included swelling on her head and forehead.
Investigators also reported a scratch on her forearm and red marks near her shoulder.
Three children were inside the home during the incident, according to the complaint.
One child called authorities after hearing what was happening inside the residence.
The complaint says Olson later sent messages apologizing to the woman.
Authorities located Olson a short time later.
He initially denied being inside the residence, according to the complaint.
He later acknowledged being inside but denied the alleged assault.
Felony Charge Filed
Olson is charged with felony domestic assault under Minnesota Statute 609.2242.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison or a $10,000 fine.
The complaint cites two prior qualifying domestic violence-related convictions within the past ten years.
Court records also reference another pending felony domestic case involving the same alleged victim.
