MINNEAPOLIS (trfnews.i234.me) – A 10-year-old boy has been arrested after driving a stolen vehicle recklessly across a crowded playground at Nellie Stone Johnson School in Minneapolis on September 20. Surveillance footage captured the child speeding on the grass and sidewalk, narrowly missing children. Quick action from school staff ensured no one was hurt.
The boy, previously arrested for auto theft, is now facing probable cause second-degree assault charges. Minneapolis police revealed he is also a suspect in more than 12 criminal cases, including robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
MPD Chief Brian O’Hara expressed concern, stating, “It’s shocking that a 10-year-old is involved in such serious criminal activity without effective intervention.” While the family is cooperating with police, Chief O’Hara emphasized the urgent need for community-wide efforts to address this growing issue of repeat juvenile offenders.
