FORMAN, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A Havana, North Dakota man, Ryan Bergh, has been sentenced to 8 years in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping and reckless endangerment for holding a bartender hostage in Forman last fall.

Bergh, 48, took bartender Melissa Wolter hostage at gunpoint, keeping her captive for hours.

The two eventually drove to Sargent County Sheriff Travis Paeper’s home, where Wolter managed to disarm Bergh and rushed inside screaming for help while the sheriff was asleep.

Bergh was arrested in Paeper’s front yard. He was credited for nearly a year spent in jail and may be released early for good behavior.
