Bemidji Mobile Home Fire Kills One, Injures Another

Bemidji, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — One person died and another was injured after an early Sunday morning mobile home fire north of Bemidji.

The Bemidji Fire Department was called to the fire at about 3:16 a.m.

The fire was reported in the 1900 block of Town Hall Road.

The location is approximately seven miles north of Bemidji.

Initial reports indicated one person had escaped from the home.

Another person remained unaccounted for when firefighters were dispatched.

Mobile Home Heavily Involved in Fire

Firefighters arrived and found a single-wide mobile home heavily involved in flames.

Crews initially attempted to enter the residence.

However, dangerous fire conditions prevented firefighters from safely going inside.

Crews then began fighting the fire from outside the home.

A 1¾-inch hose line was used during the initial attack.

A second line was deployed as additional firefighters arrived at the scene.

Firefighters eventually brought the blaze under control.

Crews then entered the mobile home to search for the missing occupant.

The person was found deceased inside the residence.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.

One civilian was also injured during the fire.

Officials have not released details about that person’s condition.

A total of 29 firefighters responded to the incident.

Eleven pieces of emergency equipment were used during the response.

Fire crews remained at the scene for approximately two hours.

The mobile home and its contents were considered a total loss.

Fire officials said the blaze appears to have been accidental.

However, the exact cause remains under investigation.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division is assisting with the investigation.

The Bemidji Fire Department also received help from several agencies.

Those agencies included Bemidji Ambulance Service and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office.

Beltrami Electric also assisted at the scene.
