Windom Township Deer Crash Injures Austin Woman

Windom Township (trfnews.i234.me) — An Austin woman was injured Sunday night after her car struck a deer on Interstate 90.

The crash happened at about 9:12 p.m. on September 13, 2026. It occurred westbound near milepost 186 in Mower County.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the driver as 30-year-old Yvette Moyeda of Austin.

Car Strikes Deer On Interstate 90

According to the State Patrol, Moyeda was driving a 2014 Dodge Charger west on Interstate 90.

The Charger collided with a deer while traveling through Windom Township.

The road was dry when the crash occurred. No alcohol use was suspected, according to the crash report.

Moyeda was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The vehicle’s airbag did not deploy.

The State Patrol listed her injuries as non-life-threatening.

Mayo Ambulance responded to the scene following the collision.

Moyeda was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for medical care.
