Skarperud Leads NDSU After Day Two of Summit League Championships

SELLERSURG, Ind. – North Dakota State men’s golf dropped one spot on day two of the 2024 Summit League Championships with a second-straight +1 round of 289 at the Covered Bridge Golf Club, to fall to seventh overall.
 
Jake Skarperud led the way for NDSU on day two, moving up to a tie for 10th overall at -3, following a -2 round of 70. Skarperud sits four shots off the lead, held by Preston Richardson of Oral Roberts. As a team, the Bison (+2) sit 20 shots behind joint leaders Oral Roberts and South Dakota State (-18).
 
Skarperud carded a team high five birdies in Monday’s round with three bogeys on the par 72, 7,000-yard course. Nate Adams carded four birdies on the day, as he shot an even par round of 72 to remain at +3, sitting in 32nd.
 
Ian Simonich also carded four birdies on the day and shot a 73 to finish the second round at -2 overall, in a tie for 13th. Jack Johnson finished with two birdies in a round of 74, to wrap NDSU’s scoring for the day, sitting in a tie for 39th at +7. Josh Galvin also sits at +7 following a 77 in the second round.
 
The Bison return to action on Tuesday with the final round of the Summit League Championships, with tee times starting at 7 a.m. CT.
