NY Man Sentenced for Assault After High-Stakes Car Chase in Frazee

Becker County, (trfnews.i234.me) – Hector Manuel Morales-Pagen, 27, of Amsterdam, New York, was sentenced in Becker County District Court after a violent domestic incident escalated into a car chase. On July 20, Morales-Pagen’s girlfriend fled their home with her two children after he began throwing and breaking items. As she headed to the police station, Morales-Pagen chased her in another vehicle, attempting to cut her off and ultimately crashing into her car.

On September 16, Morales-Pagen was sentenced for felony threats, with other charges, including second-degree assault and property damage, dropped in a plea agreement. He received a stay of imposition, meaning successful probation could reduce the charge to a misdemeanor. Morales-Pagen was credited for 40 days in jail and will serve five years of supervised probation. Additionally, he must complete a Domestic Abuse Batterer’s Intervention Program and adhere to behavioral therapy recommendations.
