Tyson Ward to Play NBA Summer League for San Antonio Spurs

Former North Dakota State men’s basketball standout Tyson Ward will play for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2024 NBA Summer League.
 
NBA TV and the ESPN networks will televise the Summer League, with a complete schedule of games and broadcast information available on NBA.com and Spurs.com.
 
The Spurs are scheduled to play three games in Sacramento, Calif., from July 6-9, before playing four additional games in Las Vegas from July 13-19.
 
Ward played his first three professional seasons in Germany from 2020-23, before joining Paris Basketball in France for the 2023-24 season. He was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year, helping lead Paris to the EuroCup title this season. Ward averaged 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 50 percent overall.
 
Ward finished his NDSU career (2016-20) as the only player in program history with more than 1,500 points, 700 rebounds and 250 assists. He was named to the Lou Henson Mid-Major All-America team, All-Summit League first team, All-Summit League Tournament team, and NABC All-District second team for his senior season in 2019-20.
