Baesler, NDSU Women Win Marauders Invite to Open Cross Country Season

BISMARCK, N.D. – Reagan Baesler captured the individual crown to lead the North Dakota State women’s cross country team to the team title at the season-opening Marauders Invite on Friday afternoon in Bismarck.
 
Baesler clocked 20:51.2 for first place in the six-kilometer race at McDowell Dam Recreation Area, winning the race by a 19-second margin. The Bison women totaled 25 points to take first in the team standings.
 
Senior Grace Link was the No. 2 runner for NDSU, taking fourth place overall in 21:16.7, and freshman Mia Hoffmann placed fifth in 21:17.2 for her collegiate debut.
 
Bison freshman Madison LeSage finished seventh in 21:48.8, and Kate LeBlanc completed the team scoring in 21:51.2 for eighth place.
 
Freshmen Jenna DeBates and Reagan Berg took 9th and 10th place, respectively. In all, the Bison women claimed 11 of the top 15 places on Friday.
 
Baesler’s time ranks 16th on the all-time NDSU cross country 6k list.
 
The Bison will compete next at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Sept. 20.
