BROOKLYN PARK, MN — A student at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park was arrested on Wednesday after school staff discovered a handgun in a backpack. Following the discovery, the school resource officer quickly identified a student as a “person of interest.” The student was arrested without incident, according to Brooklyn Park police.
Authorities have assured the community that there was no known threat to the school or its students. Park Center High School is part of the Osseo Area Schools district, and officials are continuing to investigate the incident to ensure safety on campus.
