NDSU Women’s Basketball Adds Vanderpool to Signing Class

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State women’s basketball head coach Jory Collins has announced the addition of Sacia Vanderpool to the 2024 signing class.

Vanderpool joins the Bison after spending the last three seasons at Wisconsin.

“We’re excited to add Sacia to the program,” said Collins. “We recruited her out of high school and are looking forward to getting to work with her. She’s looking for a fresh start and brings some attributes we don’t have on our team. We love her size, but more importantly, I’m excited about how motivated she is to contribute to our team.”

Vanderpool played three seasons at Wisconsin and appeared in six games after redshirting during the 2021-22 season. Prior to Wisconsin, Vanderpool was a two-time All-Conference selection at Byron High School in Byron, Minn. The 6-4 forward averaged 16.9 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in her senior season and was named to the All-State honorable mention list. Her brother, Zach, is also an incoming player for the NDSU football team this fall.

Vanderpool joins Claire Stern, Marisa Frost, Amelia Hobson and Molly Lenz in the 2024 signing class.

The Bison finished the 2023-24 season with the most wins in the NDSU Division I era with a 22-12 overall record and went on to make their second straight appearance in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament.
