Richard Fargo – Obituary

Richard “Rick” Fargo, 77, of Brainerd, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00am at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, MN with visitation starting one hour prior.

The oldest of five children, Rick was born in Grand Forks, ND to Vernon and Joyce (Fladland) Fargo on July 28, 1947. He graduated from the University of North Dakota prior to proudly serving in the Unites States Army as a First Lieutenant in the Old Guard in Washington D.C.

Rick was the broker / owner of a property management company in the Brainerd Lakes Area for more than 30 years. Highly involved in his community, Rick served on numerous committees and boards at both state and local levels. His passion was in the continuous learning and education of others on all things rental housing related. He could always be found with a camera in hand capturing moments spent with family and friends. He was happy to make “the cabin” his home over the last 5 years where he enjoyed spending time with neighbors and family. He loved snapping numerous photos of nature and the sunsets over Round Lake but above all else, he adored his family.

Survived by his children, Jon (Christina) Fargo, Matt (Nikki) Fargo, Tony (Ashley) Fargo; grandchildren, Addison, Mason, Sofia, Julia; brother Doug Fargo, sisters Jolene (Craig) Bundlie, Lee Fargo, Terri (Jon) Nelson; Significant Other Deb Condiff; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Kathy Fargo, and former spouse Jane Fargo.
