Triston Casas Blasts 3 Homers, Leads Red Sox to 8-1 Win Over Twins

BOSTON (trfnews.i234.me) – Triston Casas powered the Boston Red Sox to an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins in the opener of Sunday’s doubleheader by smashing three home runs in his first three at-bats, driving in seven runs. Casas, 24, nearly tied the MLB record of four homers in a game but grounded out in his final plate appearance.

This marks just the eighth win for the Red Sox in their last 22 games, as they continue to struggle since the All-Star break with a 23-36 record. On the other side, the Twins are slipping in their push for a wild-card spot, losing 12 of their last 18 games.

Casas’ first two home runs came off Minnesota starter Pablo López, with a three-run blast in the first and another in the third inning. He added a solo shot in the fifth off reliever Brent Headrick.

Nick Pivetta pitched five innings, giving up just one unearned run, while López allowed seven runs in four innings.
