🚨 Tragic Collision on US83 Near Wilton Claims Life of 72-Year-Old Woman

A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of US83 and ND41, north of Wilton, ND, on September 22 at approximately 3:30 PM. The accident involved a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 72-year-old woman from Mercer, ND, and a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 32-year-old man from Belcourt, ND. The Malibu failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with the Silverado in the northbound lane of US83. Despite the Silverado driver’s efforts to avoid the crash, both vehicles collided and ended up in the median, sparking a fire that was quickly contained by the Wilton Fire Department.

The Malibu driver was extricated and transported to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, where she was pronounced dead. The occupants of the Silverado sustained minor injuries, and the driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The incident is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
