Fargo Motorcyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in DUI Crash with Pickup

A serious two-vehicle crash occurred on the night of September 17th, 2024, in Fargo, North Dakota, leaving one motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries. The accident took place at around 9:49 p.m. in the 600 block of 36th St N.

Trent Hickey, 41, of Fargo, was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2003 GMC Sierra driven by Justin Skramstad, 41, of West Fargo. Hickey, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Sanford Hospital for emergency treatment.

Skramstad, who was wearing his seatbelt, was unharmed. Hickey faces DUI charges, and the crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
