Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office Report 9-23-2024

On the afternoon of 09/06/24, Troy Adam Boucher (49) of LaPorte was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the morning of 09/07/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a rooster crowing very early in the morning, causing a disturbance in the city of Brooks. Red Lake County law enforcement spoke with the owner of the rooster, and they claimed they would remedy the problem.

On the evening of 09/07/24, Cherre Hunter Thorne (58) of Thief River Falls was cited for texting while driving on Hwy. #32 north of Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 09/08/24, Terrance Alan Marsh (62) of Sacramento, CA was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 south of Brooks.

On the morning of 09/09/24, a Red Lake Falls resident reported receiving harassing text messages. Advice was given.

On the afternoon of 09/09/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft from a Terrebonne Township residence. That report remains under investigation.

On the evening of 09/09/24, Justin Joel McLaren (34) of Blackduck was cited for speeding on Hwy. #59 east of Brooks.

On the afternoon of 09/10/24, Red Lake County law enforcement, the Minnesota State Patrol, Plummer Fire Department, the Thief River Falls ambulance, and the Red Lake Falls ambulance were all dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of CR. #1 and Hwy. #59 in Plummer. It was discovered that a passenger car was struck by a pickup truck as it crossed Hwy. #59. The driver and sole occupant of the car had to be extracted from the vehicle by the Plummer Fire Department. They were transported to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls by the Red Lake Falls Ambulance to be treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the pickup had minor injuries, but did not require medical attention. Both vehicles were severely damaged, along with a light pole and a stop sign. The Minnesota State Patrol is handling the crash investigation.

On the morning of 09/11/24, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report concerning the welfare of a child. It was determined that the report was non-criminal, and the matter was referred to the Lafayette High School. The Sheriff’s Office worked with school administration and the parent of the child to address the situation.

On the morning of 09/11/24, Samantha Marie Gerholdt (33) of Oklee, was arrested for violating the terms of her supervised probation. She was taken to jail in Crookston.

On the evening of 09/11/24, Fabian Hashan Hughes (46) of Commerce, TX was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.
