On September 8, Martin George Arndt, 62, of Goodridge, was charged with felony terroristic threats following a volatile incident while retrieving property from his home at 104 Urdahl Ave. N. The situation escalated when the sheriff’s investigator, concerned about Arndt’s aggressive and agitated state, requested assistance from Chief Deputy Scott Mekash.
As the woman began collecting her belongings from the residence, Arndt continued to drink heavily, consuming shots of alcohol followed by beer. His agitation grew, and he repeatedly made threatening statements about how things wouldn’t end well.
Arndt reportedly stated his intention to confront his wife in the room where she was gathering her items. He also threatened to use a switchblade and brass knuckles, reaching toward his pants as if to retrieve them. In response, Mekash and the investigator intervened, restraining Arndt by bringing him to the ground and handcuffing him.
Despite Arndt’s attempts to argue, his intoxication made his statements incoherent. He was initially taken to Sanford Medical Center for evaluation due to his level of intoxication. Once cleared, Arndt was transported to jail and formally charged.
