Martin Guthrie Seeger, 40, of Waubun, narrowly avoided a felony conviction after leading police on a high-speed chase in Becker County on August 2, 2023. Court records reveal that a state trooper clocked Seeger’s Volkswagen Passat speeding at 95 mph in a 60-mph zone in Richwood Township. When the officer activated his lights and siren, Seeger continued to flee, even waving at the trooper to pass him.
Seeger eventually pulled over in Callaway, where he was arrested. On June 24, Becker County District Judge Gretchen Thilmony issued a stay of adjudication, meaning that if Seeger successfully completes two years of unsupervised probation, his felony charge will be dismissed. He was also credited for two days served in jail and faced no fines or fees.
