Henning (trfnews.i234.me) — A Henning man faces three charges after an alleged domestic assault in Otter Tail County.
Matthew James Samuelson is charged with felony threats of violence and two gross misdemeanor domestic assault counts.
The charges stem from an alleged incident on July 14, 2026.
The alleged victim is identified in court records only as T.K.
Woman Reports Alleged Assault
According to the complaint, authorities received an assault report around 5:25 p.m.
T.K. told investigators that Samuelson was her boyfriend.
She alleged an argument began after Samuelson looked through her phone.
The dispute involved an older message concerning another man, according to the complaint.
T.K. alleged Samuelson then grabbed her by the hair and throat.
She said Samuelson slammed her head against a furnace inside the residence.
The complaint says Samuelson then allegedly threw T.K. over dining room chairs.
T.K. also alleged Samuelson threatened to kill her if she did not leave.
Her cellphone was not working because it had been smashed, court records state.
Head Injuries Reported
Authorities later met with T.K. at another residence.
She reported feeling injuries on the back and top of her head.
The complaint says an investigator could feel bumps through her hair.
T.K. also told authorities Samuelson had come to her location after the alleged assault.
The complaint says Samuelson had not been located when the charges were prepared.
Prosecutors therefore requested a warrant for his arrest.
