Crookston Man Faces Meth Charges Near School

Crookston (trfnews.i234.me) — Ethan Don Edward Yarbro faces two felony drug charges in Polk County.

The charges follow a July 20, 2026, search of a Crookston residence.

Prosecutors allege methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were connected to Yarbro and the home.

Three young children were also inside the residence when investigators arrived, according to the complaint.

Search Warrant Executed at Crookston Home

Police obtained a warrant during an ongoing drug investigation involving Kaylee Rose Boman.

Boman had been arrested two days earlier in a controlled substance-related DWI investigation.

She told investigators that methamphetamine paraphernalia was inside her bedroom, according to the complaint.

Boman accompanied officers to the residence while the warrant was executed.

Officers entered and found Yarbro standing in the kitchen.

Yarbro told police that three children were sleeping inside the home.

Investigators searched Boman’s bedroom and removed a dresser drawer.

They allegedly found methamphetamine pipes, baggies, a plate, and another smoking device beneath the dresser.

A substance on the plate field-tested positive for methamphetamine, the complaint states.

Yarbro Allegedly Admits Meth Use

Yarbro initially told investigators that he had thrown Boman’s paraphernalia into a nearby dumpster.

The items were later found inside the bedroom, according to court records.

Yarbro allegedly said he did not know how the items returned there.

He also provided a urine sample during the investigation.

A field test of that sample indicated methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

During a later interview, Yarbro allegedly admitted using methamphetamine at the residence on July 16.

He said the three children were sleeping inside the home at that time.

The complaint says Yarbro acknowledged using methamphetamine from a plate inside Boman’s bedroom.

School-Zone and Child-Related Charges

Investigators said the bedroom was near Highland Elementary School in Crookston.

Prosecutors allege the location falls within the prohibited school zone described by Minnesota law.

Count One charges Yarbro with third-degree controlled substance possession in a prohibited zone.

Minnesota Statute 152.023 allows up to 20 years in prison.

The maximum fine is $250,000.

Count Two concerns storing methamphetamine paraphernalia where children were present.

Minnesota Statute 152.137 makes that offense a felony.

The charge carries up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The case is filed as 60-CR-26-1026 in Polk County District Court.

Public records may be available through Minnesota Court Records Online.

The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.

Yarbro is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
