Authorities have confirmed that the boy was accidentally shot in the leg above the knee by an 11-year-old using a .22 caliber handgun. The incident occurred at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Thursday.
Emergency responders quickly transported the injured boy by ambulance to Fosston before he was airlifted to Sanford in Fargo for further treatment.
