Narrative: The crash occurred when Dennis Loewen, riding eastbound on his bicycle, abruptly turned north towards a school near Mile Marker 119 on State Highway 17. Brenden Erickson, driving behind Loewen, struck the bicyclist broadside after Loewen swerved into his lane. The collision resulted in severe injuries to Loewen. The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP).
