WEST FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Police have released new information about a deadly shooting that occurred outside Prairie Heights Church in West Fargo on Saturday, August 17th. Authorities responded to a report of an assault and shots fired in the church parking lot just before 8 a.m.
Investigators revealed that the incident began when 66-year-old Kent Hodges confronted fellow church member Austin Strom as he attempted to enter the church. The confrontation escalated, leading to Strom physically attacking Hodges. Witnessing the altercation, 53-year-old Donald Barron II intervened. As Strom advanced toward Barron, Barron fired a single shot with his personal handgun.
Strom was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Hodges, who initiated the confrontation, suffered severe injuries and was also hospitalized. The investigation is ongoing, with no further details released at this time.
