Shocking Shooting: Four Minneapolis Kids, Ages 11-14, Injured in Stolen Kia

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In a disturbing incident early Sunday, August 18, four minors, aged 11 to 14, were shot while inside a stolen Kia in Minneapolis. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on Plymouth Avenue North when a dark-colored sedan pulled up behind the Kia and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed outrage over the incident, stating, “Four kids shot between 11 and 14 is outrageous, and everyone should be up in arms over it.” Responding officers provided immediate medical aid before firefighters and EMS arrived, transporting the injured to HCMC. Two boys and one girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while another girl remains in critical condition. A fifth juvenile was unharmed.

Chief O’Hara highlighted the growing issue of juveniles engaging in increasingly dangerous activities with stolen vehicles, particularly Kia and Hyundai models. Despite a decrease in thefts, the crimes committed by those involved have escalated, with more frequent incidents of aggravated assaults, robberies, and hit-and-runs.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
