Fargo Crash Kills Mahnomen Motorcyclist

FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen motorcyclist died after a four-vehicle crash in Fargo on Thursday, July 30.

Motorcyclist Identified

The North Dakota Highway Patrol identified the rider as Ronald Huebner, 60, of Mahnomen, Minnesota.

The crash happened at about 3:21 p.m. at Main Avenue and South University Drive.

Investigators said Huebner was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson west on Main Avenue.

The patrol said he entered the intersection against a red light.

His motorcycle struck the rear of a 2023 Subaru Ascent traveling south through the intersection.

The impact threw Huebner from the motorcycle.

A southbound 2023 Ford F-150 then struck him in the intersection.

The motorcycle continued moving and hit a 2006 Ford Fusion stopped behind the pickup.

Emergency crews transported Huebner to Sanford Medical Center.

He later died from his injuries.

The patrol said Huebner was wearing a helmet when the crash happened.

No other drivers or passengers reported injuries.

Kirsten Barton, 53, of Fargo, was driving the Subaru.

Her passenger was Laura Barton, 67, of Vacaville, California.

Both women were wearing seat belts, according to investigators.

Dylan Kangas, 23, of Fargo, was driving the Ford F-150.

Sarah Delgado, 20, of Fargo, was driving the Ford Fusion.

Neither driver was injured.

Light rain left the roadway wet during the crash.

Fargo police, firefighters, and Sanford Ambulance crews helped at the scene.

Traffic was diverted while responders treated Huebner and cleared the damaged vehicles.

The intersection reopened after emergency crews completed their work.

Investigators continue reviewing the sequence of impacts and other evidence.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
