BECKER COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In the early hours of Saturday morning, August 10th, a tragic shooting occurred at a residence on U.S. Highway 10 in Frazee. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 1:20 a.m. reporting the incident. Upon arrival, emergency personnel attempted to save the victim’s life, but 31-year-old Arlan Ray Bergstrom Jr. of Detroit Lakes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roughly 40 minutes later, authorities arrested 31-year-old Willis Charles McDonald of rural Frazee at a residence in Otter Tail County, south of Frazee, in connection with the shooting. McDonald was taken into custody and booked into the Becker County Jail, where he remains pending further investigation.
Officials believe this to be an isolated incident, with no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation is still active, with assistance from multiple agencies including the Frazee Police Department, Detroit Lakes Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
