BECKER COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A deadly shooting occurred early Saturday morning near Acorn Lake in Becker County, Minnesota. The Becker County Sheriff’s Department received a report at approximately 1:20 a.m. of an adult male being shot at a residence located at 30397 Highway 10, Lot 12. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at around 2 a.m.
The suspect, 31-year-old Willis Charles McDonald of Frazee, was arrested shortly after at a residence south of Frazee. He is currently in custody at the Becker County Jail, awaiting further investigation. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s identity will be released after family notification.
The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Frazee Police Department, Detroit Lakes Police, Minnesota State Patrol, Ottertail Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota BCA, and other emergency services.
