Fargo Suspect Charged in Online Gun Sale Robbery

FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) — Daquan Kerrel Dawson faces four felony charges after an alleged armed robbery tied to an online firearm listing.

North Dakota court records say Dawson was charged in Cass County District Court.

He faces two Class B felonies: robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery with a firearm.

The Class C charges allege firearm theft and unlawful possession by a felon or violent misdemeanant.

Dawson was arraigned and remains in custody. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 28.

The court docket lists Dawson’s birth year as 2008.

The Alleged Online Setup

According to an incident report, the robbery happened July 18 in a Fargo apartment parking lot.

The seller had listed an AR pistol on BisManOnline.

A user calling himself “Tyler Jacobson” offered $750 for the firearm.

The buyer provided an address and arranged a meeting. The seller arrived with the firearm inside a case.

Investigators say a white sport utility vehicle then pulled beside the seller’s vehicle.

The suspected buyer entered the front passenger seat. He began completing firearm transfer paperwork, according to the report.

The other vehicle’s driver then approached the open passenger window.

The driver allegedly pointed a gun at the seller. He demanded the listed firearm.

The suspected buyer searched the seller and asked whether he carried anything else.

He then took the firearm case, investigators allege.

The case contained the AR pistol and two loaded magazines. Both suspects left in the white vehicle.

Investigators obtained records connected to the BisManOnline account.

They traced the account to a telephone number linked to Dawson.

The number was also connected to Dawson’s name through Cash App, according to the report.

The seller’s description included the suspect’s hairstyle and a distinctive hand tattoo.

Investigators said those details were consistent with Dawson.

Nearby Ring camera video showed a white Lexus RX circling the parking lot.

Police previously associated that vehicle with Dawson, the report states.

Detectives later searched another address connected to the investigation.

They found the seller’s stolen firearm case, investigators said.

The case had a distinctive clip and an American flag design.

Detectives also found a loaded magazine and a grip attachment.

A juvenile at that location was arrested on related allegations. The juvenile was taken to detention.

Dawson was later located at his workplace.

Detectives then searched his apartment and found clothing matching the suspect’s reported appearance.

He was arrested on robbery conspiracy and firearm theft allegations.

The charges are accusations. Dawson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
